Meet the Team: Tyler Cartwright, People Specialist
Continuing our Meet the Team series, get to know Tyler Cartwright, People Specialist at Zignal Labs.
- Where did you grow up?
Livermore, CA – the suburbs of the East Bay. - What was your first job?
I worked as a babysitter and a Little League umpire when I was 12 years old, but my first actual payroll job was a Gate Checker at a local Cabana Club when I was 14 years old. I signed members into the pool area and sold ice cream for $1. - What do you do at Zignal?
I work as a Specialist in the People & Culture department. I coordinate our onboarding program, help employees with benefits questions and manage our People systems and processes. - If you could do any other job at Zignal for one day, which job would you want to do?
Customer Success Manager. It requires a lot of in-depth product knowledge, but I like the idea of listening to customers and working with them to meet their needs. - What would you do for a career if you weren’t doing this?
I’d be a traveling yoga instructor. - What would be the title of your autobiography?
Finding Herself: One Girl on a Giant Planet - Who inspires you?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is a pioneer woman and has never let society’s expectations stop her from accomplishing her goals and doing what she feels is right. - What’s your secret talent?
I can spin a mean hula hoop. I also make custom essential oil blends for any mood. - What’s your favorite quote?
“What we think, we become.” – Buddha - What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
Music! It moves me, and it’s a huge part of my everyday life. - What’s your coffee/tea order?
Just a black coffee – no cream or sugar. - What’s the best meal you’ve ever eaten?
Anything from Millenium Restaurant in Oakland. They’re always rotating the menu, and they have the most exquisite vegan dishes I’ve ever tasted. Every dish is amazing. - What’s your dream travel destination?
Amsterdam. The canals are so picturesque; I’d love to visit in person. - Do you have any pets?
I have a three-year-old tuxedo cat named Binx. She’s very rambunctious, but the most loving cat you will ever meet. - What’s the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
An electric car.
